High-Quality Rug Pads

Antique Persian rug with an all-over herati design on a wood floor

A good rug pad is one of the best investments you can make for your rug and your floors. We carry high-quality pads that prevent slipping, protect hardwood and tile, and extend the life of your rug — custom-cut to any size.

Why Every Rug Needs a Pad

Most people think of rug pads as a safety item — and they are — but the benefits go much further. A quality pad protects your floors from dye transfer and scratching, cushions the rug against foot traffic, and keeps the rug from bunching or creeping across the room.

For valuable hand-knotted rugs, a pad also reduces the stress on the foundation fibers caused by foot traffic, significantly extending the rug's life. It's one of the simplest things you can do to protect a rug worth hundreds or thousands of dollars.

Felt & Rubber Combination

The most popular choice — a dense felt top layer for cushioning and a natural rubber bottom that grips the floor without adhesives. Safe for all hard floor types.

Natural Rubber

A thinner profile for rugs in low-traffic areas or where minimal height gain is important. Excellent grip on hardwood and tile.

Felt Only

Best for use over carpet — the felt layer prevents the rug from sliding on top of wall-to-wall carpet without adding unnecessary bulk.

Any Shape

Round, rectangular, runner, or irregular — we cut pads to match your rug exactly.

Any Size

From small accent rugs to large room-size pieces, we have material in stock.

Trimmed to Fit

Pads should be cut 1–2 inches smaller than the rug on all sides. We handle this for you.

Delivered with Your Rug

Order a pad with your cleaning and we'll deliver both together — no extra trip.

What size pad do I need?

Your pad should be cut 1–2 inches smaller than your rug on all sides. This keeps the pad hidden and prevents the edges from curling up.

Are rug pads safe for hardwood floors?

Our felt and natural rubber pads are safe for hardwood, engineered wood, tile, and laminate. We do not carry PVC or vinyl-backed pads, which can damage certain floor finishes over time.

Can I use a rug pad on carpet?

Yes — use a felt-only pad over carpet. The felt layer grips the carpet fibers and prevents the area rug from sliding without adding unnecessary height.

How long does a rug pad last?

A quality felt and rubber pad typically lasts 5–10 years. We recommend replacing it when it starts to compress, crumble, or lose its grip.

Can I order a pad with my rug cleaning?

Absolutely. Just mention it when you schedule your pick-up and we'll have a custom-cut pad ready to deliver with your clean rug.
